7. Non-Collection
The customer agrees that if their pet is not collected within 7 days of the date in which it was due to leave our care and no communication is received from the owner or an emergency contact, then authority is given to rehome the pet at our discretion.
8. Behaviour and temperament
It is the owner’s responsibility to answer all pre-booking enquiries about your dog’s behaviour and temperament honestly and truthfully. Failure to do so could lead to us and other dogs in our care being put in danger. We reserve the right to refuse our services to a customer who has provided false or inadequate information.
All day care and boarding customers are required to book their dog in for a trial session prior to any services taking place. Dogs must be comfortable and happy in other dogs’ company. By booking with us you understand and accept that we may walk and board dogs from different households at the same time.
Once in our care, we will continually assess every dog’s behaviour. We reserve the right to separate and isolate your dog should it become reactive, aggressive and a threat to us or other dogs in our care.
In extreme cases, we reserve the right to contact you or your emergency contact to come and collect your dog if we feel it is unsafe for us or other dogs in our care for them to remain in our care. In such a case, any future bookings for day care and boarding will be automatically cancelled.
9. Food and personal belongings
For day care and boarding customers, owners are required to provide sufficient food for the duration of their pets’ stay.
For home boarding, we encourage owners to bring their own beds and blankets to ensure maximum comfort and consistency for your dog whilst they are staying with us and away from home. We will try our best to keep them in the condition in which they arrived, but no guarantees can be made that they will be returned without damage at the end of your dog’s stay.
10. Vaccinations, flea and worming treatment
All vaccinations must be up to date prior to arrival for day care and boarding services. We require you to either send a photo of your pet’s vaccination record to info@fourleggedlife.co.uk or to bring it with you when you arrive. Any pet that does not have an up to date vaccination record will not be accepted for the stay booked, and we will be unable to issue a refund.
Dogs must be fully vaccinated against: Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Adenovirus, Parvovirus and Parainfluenza. They must have had their booster injection within the previous twelve months.
As a home setting, Kennel Cough is not required, but we do strongly recommend your dog having it. We take no responsibility for your dog contracting kennel cough while in our care.
It is the responsibility of the owner to ensure that their pet’s flea and worming treatment is given before arrival. If fleas are found on your dog during their stay, we will comb the fleas out. Alternatively, we can apply a treatment that has been provided by you or a vet. We will not apply any treatments that have not been provided by the owner or a vet, due to the risk of allergic reaction to the dog.
11. Health and medication
Unless stated otherwise, by booking you confirm that your pet is in a fit and healthy condition and has had their relevant vaccinations.
Whilst every care will be taken, we cannot be liable for illness, injury, or death of any animal in our care.
We reserve the right to refuse admittance or visits to those pets whose owners have not provided us with accurate information of their pet’s medical needs prior to our services starting.
11.1 Veterinary advice and treatment
By confirming your booking, you provide permission for us to seek veterinary advice and treatment for your pet if we deem that it is required. If owners and/or emergency contacts cannot be reached in the case of an emergency then by booking, authority is given to Four Legged Life Ltd to authorise any treatment recommended by a veterinary professional. All costs associated with any veterinary care and treatment are the responsibility of the owner.
11.2 Medication
For animals that require medication whilst we are providing services, we ask that owners provide clear instructions and medication, medical containers and equipment are marked clearly. While we will attempt to encourage the taking their medication via various means, we take no responsibility for pets that refuse to take their medication.
11.3 Unspayed females
Regretfully, we’re unable to accept unspayed female dogs who are in season (or due to come into season during their stay) for day care or home boarding. This is due to being a small, home setting and the impact it has on other dogs behaviour. If your dog has unpredictable cycles and comes into season while with us, we will need you or an emergency contact to collect them. In these circumstances, our usual cancellation policy applies.

Full policy information can be accessed via the following link – https://brooks-policy.co.uk/resources/docs/files/Petplan%20Sanctuary%20Terms%20and%20Conditions.pdf
13. Photography and marketing

We will never publish any of your personal details in any public domain. By booking with Four Legged Life Ltd you consent to your contact details being added to our database for information and marketing purposes. We will never share your details with any third parties.
